Ingredients:
For the Gulab Jamun Balls:
- 1 cup of Milk Powder
- 1/4 cup of All-Purpose Flour
- 1/4 tsp Baking Soda
- 2 tbsp Ghee
- A pinch of Cardamom Powder
- A few tablespoons of Milk (for kneading)
- Oil or Ghee (for frying)
For the Sugar Syrup:
- 1 1/2 cups of Sugar
- 1 1/2 cups of Water
- A pinch of Cardamom Powder
- A few Saffron strands
Method:
For Sugar Syrup:
- In a deep pan, combine the sugar and water.
- Stir well and bring it to a boil.
- Once it boils, reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 5-7 minutes until the syrup thickens slightly.
- Add a pinch of cardamom powder and saffron strands for flavor.
- Turn off the heat and set the sugar syrup aside to cool.
Make the Gulab Jamun:
- Add the milk powder, all-purpose flour, baking soda, and a pinch of cardamom powder in a bowl.
- Add 2 tablespoons of ghee and mix well.
- Add a few tablespoons of milk while kneading the mixture into a soft, smooth, and non-sticky dough.
- keep the dough and let it for 10-15 minutes.
- After divide the dough into small, equal-sized portions and roll them into smooth balls.
- Ensure the balls are smooth as any cracks can cause them to break while frying.
- Heat ghee or oil in a deep pan over medium-low heat.
- Gently slide the Gulab Jamun balls into the hot oil one by one.
- Fry the Gulab Jamun on low heat. They should turn a rich, golden-brown color.
- Remove them from the oil.
- While the Gulab Jamun balls are still warm, gently place them into the prepared sugar syrup.
- Let them soak for at least 1-2 hours.
Your homemade Gulab Jamun is ready to serve! These sweet delights are best enjoyed warm, and they make a perfect dessert for any occasion.
