Ingredients:
- 8 pav bread
- 2 large potatoes, boiled and mashed
- 1/2 cup boiled and mashed green peas
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 1 large tomato, finely chopped
- 2-3 finely chopped green chilies
- 1/2 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1 teaspoon garam masala
- Salt to taste
- 2 tablespoons cooking oil
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1/2 cup coriander leaves, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup tamarind chutney
- 1/4 cup green chutney
- 1/4 cup sev
- Lemon slice for serving
Method:
- Heat oil in a pan and add the chopped onions and fry until they turn translucent over medium heat.
- Add the ginger-garlic paste and green chilies. fry for another 2 minutes.
- Add the turmeric powder, red chili powder, and garam masala. mix well and fry for a minute.
- Add the finely chopped tomatoes and cook until they turn soft and the oil separate.
- Add the boiled mashed potatoes and mashed green peas. Mix well with the onion-tomato mixture.
- Add salt and cook for 5-7 minutes.
- Slice each pav in half without cutting all the way through.
- Apply butter to the inside of each pav and place them on a hot pan. Toast until they are golden brown.
- Spread tamarind chutney on one side of the pav and green chutney on the other side.
- Fill pav with the prepared potato and pea mixture.
- Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and a sprinkle of sev for extra crunch.
- Serve hot pav sandwich with lemon slice.
