Gulab Jamun recipe

Ingredients:

For the Gulab Jamun Balls:

  • 1 cup of Milk Powder
  • 1/4 cup of All-Purpose Flour
  • 1/4 tsp Baking Soda
  • 2 tbsp Ghee
  • A pinch of Cardamom Powder
  • A few tablespoons of Milk (for kneading)
  • Oil or Ghee (for frying)

For the Sugar Syrup:

  • 1 1/2 cups of Sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups of Water
  • A pinch of Cardamom Powder
  • A few Saffron strands

Method:

For Sugar Syrup:

  • In a deep pan, combine the sugar and water.
  • Stir well and bring it to a boil.
  • Once it boils, reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 5-7 minutes until the syrup thickens slightly.
  • Add a pinch of cardamom powder and saffron strands for flavor.
  • Turn off the heat and set the sugar syrup aside to cool.

Make the Gulab Jamun:

  • Add the milk powder, all-purpose flour, baking soda, and a pinch of cardamom powder in a bowl.
  • Add 2 tablespoons of ghee and mix well.
  • Add a few tablespoons of milk while kneading the mixture into a soft, smooth, and non-sticky dough.
  • keep the dough and let it for 10-15 minutes.
  • After divide the dough into small, equal-sized portions and roll them into smooth balls.
  • Ensure the balls are smooth as any cracks can cause them to break while frying.
  • Heat ghee or oil in a deep pan over medium-low heat.
  • Gently slide the Gulab Jamun balls into the hot oil one by one.
  • Fry the Gulab Jamun on low heat. They should turn a rich, golden-brown color.
  • Remove them from the oil.
  • While the Gulab Jamun balls are still warm, gently place them into the prepared sugar syrup.
  • Let them soak for at least 1-2 hours.

Your homemade Gulab Jamun is ready to serve! These sweet delights are best enjoyed warm, and they make a perfect dessert for any occasion.
