Ingredients:
For the Samosa Dough:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour (maida)
- 2 tablespoons oil
- A pinch of salt
- 1/4 cup lukewarm water
For the Samosa Filling:
- 2 large boiled, peeled, and diced potatoes
- 1/2 cup frozen peas
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
- Salt as per taste
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh coriander leaves
- oil for deep frying
Method:
prepare the Samosa Dough:
- Add the Maida, pinch of salt, oil in mixing bowl.
- Add lukewarm water and knead the dough until it’s smooth and soft.
- Cover the dough and leave it for 20-30 minutes.
Prepare the Samosa Filling:
- Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a pan on medium flame.
- Add cumin seeds and let them sizzle.
- Add ginger-garlic paste and fry.
- Add the turmeric, red chili powder, coriander powder, and garam masala in a pan.
- Add the boiled potatoes and frozen peas. Mix well.
- Cook for 5-7 minutes, until the peas are cooked.
- Add salt and fresh coriander leaves. Mix and remove from heat.
Making for samosa:
- Divide the dough into equal parts and make it smooth balls .
- Roll all the balls in oval shape, about 6 inches in length.
- Cut each dough into two equal shape, creating two semi-circles.
- Take one semi-circle and give it the cone shape.
- Fill the cone with the prepared potato filling.
- closed the open edge to form a triangular shape. Ensure it’s closed tightly to prevent any filling from spilling during frying.
- Heat oil in a deep pan for frying. if the oil is hot, fry the samosa on medium flame until they turn golden brown and crispy.
- Remove the samosas using a slotted spoon.
- Serve hot with tamarind, mint chutney, or your favorite sauce.
